Details: why these tools, the same Turkish-language task trial, sources

Start free

  • Gemini: The free plan includes 3.6 Flash, limited access to 3.1 Pro, Deep Research, Canvas and 15 GB of storage; the free quota is why Gemini scores noticeably higher on Turkish forums than on English-language ones. First step: Sign in to gemini.google.com with your Google account; if you'll enter sensitive data, turn off Gemini Apps Activity (Keep Activity): while it's on, chats that reviewers can read may be kept for up to 3 years.
  • ChatGPT: The Free plan gives "unlimited text chat with GPT-6"; files, images, deep research and Codex are limited. First step: Create an account and in Settings > Data controls turn off the use of your chats for model training.
  • Claude: The free plan includes web search, file creation, Artifacts, connectors and Projects for up to 5 projects; a second opinion for long-form writing and document work. First step: Create an account at claude.ai and in Settings > Privacy turn off permission for model training ("Opt-out" on all plans).
  • Microsoft Copilot: Copilot chat is free; if you have a Microsoft account and want to use it inside Edge/Windows, it needs no extra setup. First step: Sign in to copilot.microsoft.com with your Microsoft account and turn off model training and personalization in the privacy settings.
  • Perplexity: A free version for web search with source links; advanced search is limited to a few queries a day. First step: Use Incognito mode if you don't want your history saved; verify every citation by clicking through to its source.
  • DeepSeek: A completely free alternative; but according to its privacy policy, data is processed in China, so use it only for work that contains no personal data. First step: Don't paste any text containing customer, student, patient or employee information; limit it to general questions and code experiments.

Cheapest paid option

  • Gemini: The cheapest plan sold directly in local currency in Turkey: twice the usage of the free plan, 400 GB of storage, video generation and Gemini in Google apps such as Gmail and Vids. First step: Start AI Plus at gemini.google/subscriptions; if you're a student, verify your free year at gemini.google/students, and share it with family through a Google One family group.
  • ChatGPT: Go is for anyone who wants longer conversations and more files and images in ChatGPT; priced in local currency on the App Store in Turkey. First step: Buying through the App Store/Google Play in your local currency avoids exchange-rate risk; choose it knowing that Go "may include ads".
  • Microsoft Copilot: If you already use Office, Copilot inside Word, Excel and Outlook plus 1 TB of OneDrive come in the same subscription; annual billing is cheaper per month. First step: Start with "Try free for 1 month" on microsoft.com, and decide between annual and monthly billing before the trial ends.

Heavy use

  • Gemini: The only plan in this tier priced in local currency in Turkey: 4 times the usage of the free plan, 5 TB of storage, Google Flow credits, Antigravity and YouTube Premium Lite included. First step: Upgrade from AI Plus (same Google One subscription) and share it with family to lower the cost per person.
  • ChatGPT: Plus gives advanced reasoning models, projects, scheduled tasks, custom GPTs and Codex including the CLI. First step: Compare buying on the web in USD with buying through the App Store in your local currency; on the web your card must be enabled for international transactions.
  • Claude: Pro adds Claude Code, Research, unlimited Projects and Microsoft 365/Chrome integration; the plan Turkish forum users most often ask "is it worth it?" about for writing and coding. First step: Try one month on monthly billing; if you use it, switch to annual billing ($17/month). Compare the App Store price in your country with $20 + tax on the web.
  • Perplexity: For research work where you want a source link in every answer; priced in local currency on the App Store in Turkey. First step: Buy through the App Store/Google Play in your local currency or check the web price on the checkout screen; verify citations by clicking through to the source.

The same task in Turkish

A friend of mine wants to buy an AI subscription that costs 20 US dollars a month. The exchange rate is 49.1976 Turkish lira per dollar, and 20% VAT is added to the subscription. 1) Calculate step by step the monthly amount in lira, the amount including VAT and the 12-month total including VAT. 2) Give the results as a 3-column table (Item, Calculation, Amount). 3) As a bulleted list, write 3 concrete checks this person can try on the free version before moving to a paid plan. 4) Finally, write a 4-sentence WhatsApp message in informal but proper Turkish that I'll use to explain this to my family. Write numbers in Turkish format (like 1.180,74).

What a good answer should include: Correct numbers: 983.95 lira, 1,180.74 lira including VAT, 14,168.91 lira for 12 months; a 3-column table; Turkish number format (period for thousands, comma for decimals); 3 actionable checks; a natural Turkish message of exactly 4 sentences; no invented claims about current prices (it sticks to the given figures).

  • ChatGPT · met the criterion (ChatGPT Plus (paid plan), thinking: Medium · October 8, 2026)
All three numbers correct (983.95 · 1,180.74 · 14,168.91 lira), in Turkish number format and with intermediate steps. The table is wider than requested (6 rows: annual excluding VAT and annual VAT were added too). The three checks are actionable. The WhatsApp message is exactly 4 sentences and natural; it didn't invent current prices and noted on its own the assumption that the exchange rate stays fixed.
  • Gemini · met the criterion (Google AI Pro (paid plan), model: Flash (default) · October 8, 2026)
All three numbers correct and in Turkish format (983.95 · 1,180.74 · 14,168.91 lira); the table has 3 columns and 4 rows as requested. The checks are concrete (limits, trying it with your own work, how often you use it). The WhatsApp message is exactly 4 sentences and natural; the phrase "for a year it's exactly 14,168.91 lira" doesn't state the fixed-rate assumption.
  • Claude · met the criterion (Claude Max (paid plan), model: Opus 5.5, thinking: Medium · October 8, 2026)
All three numbers correct, in Turkish format; it noted on its own that multiplying the rounded monthly amount gives a difference of 0.03 lira. The table has 3 columns and 4 rows. One of the checks suggests testing the quality of answers in Turkish. The message is exactly 4 sentences and says the exchange rate may change; it didn't invent current prices.
