What Is HubSpot MCP? How to Connect It to Claude, Cost, Deleting Records and Admin Approval

From a Claude chat you ask about the contacts, companies, deals, campaigns and content in your HubSpot account, and create and update records. HubSpot MCP (called the HubSpot connector in Claude) is HubSpot's own connector; in the Claude directory it is labeled "Anthropic verified" and "Made by HubSpot." HubSpot states that the connector does not support deleting. To connect you need a paid Claude subscription (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise) and a HubSpot account; the HubSpot article says "all products and plans." Some tools require a higher HubSpot plan.

What does HubSpot MCP do?

MCP is the standard AI programs use to connect to outside tools. With the HubSpot connector, Claude searches and summarizes contacts, companies, deals, tickets, campaigns, blog posts and conversations in your HubSpot account and draws charts; it creates and updates records, notes, tasks, email drafts, blog posts and landing pages.

Creates and updates records; no deleting. You control the write approval setting.

The tool count differs between two sources: the Claude directory lists 36 tools, HubSpot's developer documentation 32. Claude-specific tools appear as extras in the directory. For that reason no single number is given.

Who it helps: sales, marketing and agency teams who would rather ask Claude than browse CRM data by hand.

How do you connect HubSpot MCP?

The steps come from the HubSpot help article (last updated September 24, 2026).

  1. In Claude, click the profile icon at the bottom left and open Settings then Connectors.
  2. Click "Browse," find and select HubSpot, then click "Connect."
  3. Choose the HubSpot account you'll use and sign in.
  4. On the "Connecting HubSpot Connector for Claude to HubSpot" page, choose the permissions you want to give the connector and click "Connect app."
  5. You return to the Claude chat; turn on the HubSpot toggle under + › Connectors at the bottom left and type your request.

A Super Admin or a user with App Marketplace Access permission can install the connector directly. For other users, a Super Admin must first approve the connector: HubSpot settings then Integrations then Connected Apps then Approved apps › Approve apps.

HubSpot recommends setting the connector's "Write tools" setting in Claude to "Needs Approval." If you choose "Always allow," edits can be made without asking.

Only one HubSpot account can be connected to a Claude account at a time. For clients such as Claude Code and Cursor, the documentation describes creating a connector under Development › MCP Connectors in the account and connecting to mcp.hubspot.com with OAuth (PKCE); it does not give step-by-step setup. There is no official setup page for ChatGPT and Gemini.

How do you use HubSpot MCP?

Once connected, you write your request as usual. For bulk operations, start with a single record first (HubSpot's recommendation).

Deal summary"List the deals in HubSpot expected to close this month; show each one's stage, amount and owner."
Add a note"In HubSpot, add the note "Price quote sent, expecting a reply on Friday" to the contact Sarah Miller. Show me what you will write before adding it."
Campaign analysis"Compare how last quarter's campaigns contributed to deal revenue."

To send a landing page you made in Claude Design to HubSpot: Design › Share › More formats and apps › Send next to HubSpot. The page goes to HubSpot as a draft; you review and publish it there.

What can HubSpot MCP access, and can it delete?

Reads

Contacts, companies, deals, tickets, leads, lists and custom objects; activities and conversations; blog, page, campaign and email analytics; user and account information; AEO data on higher plans. Only data you can already see in HubSpot.

Writes

Creating/updating CRM records and activities; creating and publishing campaigns, email drafts, blog posts and landing/website pages; managing pipelines, custom properties and segments.

Deletes

Deleting is not supported. Still, update permission can replace a field's value with another one; don't read this as "no data loss."

Data

If Sensitive Data is turned on in the account, Claude cannot access activity (email, call, meeting, note, task) and conversation data. Actions are written to the HubSpot Audit Log. Data that is read passes to Claude; HubSpot says Anthropic's terms on not using data for training vary by plan.

HubSpot warns: Claude is a third-party service and can make mistakes; review suggested changes before approving them. Blog and page publishing tools normally ask for approval, but if "Always allow" is selected in Claude they can run without asking.

As a remote service, it is outside the scope of a GitHub security advisory check. There is no statement specific to KVKK (Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law); for GDPR/HIPAA, HubSpot points to its DPA/BAA instead of saying "compliant."

Is HubSpot MCP free?

No separate HubSpot fee is listed for the connector; the HubSpot article says "all products and plans." On the Claude side, however, a paid subscription is required: the HubSpot page asks for a paid Anthropic subscription (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise). The documentation has no explicit sentence saying it works on a free HubSpot account.

Frequently asked questions

Is the HubSpot Claude connector free?

HubSpot lists no separate fee for the connector and shows the article for all products and plans; however, Claude requires a paid subscription (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise). Some tools require a higher HubSpot plan.

Can Claude delete my records in HubSpot?

No, the connector does not support deleting. It only views, creates and updates; an update can change a field's value, which is why setting the write tools to Needs Approval is recommended.

Can anyone connect it?

Super Admins and users with App Marketplace Access permission can connect without prior approval; for other users a Super Admin must approve the connector first. Claude only sees data you already have permission to see in HubSpot.

Is my data used to train Claude?

According to HubSpot's summary, Anthropic does not use data you share through HubSpot to train models, except in cases such as giving feedback or opting in to training. Which terms apply depends on your Anthropic plan.

Does it work in Turkish?

HubSpot says the connector works well in many languages but does not mention Turkish. The help article is not offered in Turkish.
