What Is Ootto? How to Connect It to Claude, Is It Free, and What It Accesses on Instagram
You give Ootto your website and Instagram account; it produces Reels and carousels in your brand's colors and voice. It connects to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Grok and ChatGPT as a remote MCP server (https://mcp.ootto.ai/mcp); it isn't in the Claude directory and is added manually. Everything it produces lands first in your Ootto library and isn't posted without your approval. It's a paid marketing service with no free plan. The interface and pricing are in English/dollars; Turkish support is not stated in the official documentation.

What is Ootto for?
MCP is the standard for AI programs to connect to outside services. With the Ootto connector, you have your assistant: find creators and Reels that work in your niche, come up with ideas, produce finished vertical Reels or carousels in your brand's colors and voice, revise what it produced, schedule Reels you approve to Instagram, check comments and read post performance.
Instagram connection is optional; posting happens with your approval.
Who it's for: small businesses and solo brands that want to post Reels regularly. Ootto's free GitHub skills (the Ootto-AI account) are a separate thing; this page covers the paid connector.
!The view and lead numbers on Ootto's site are the product's own claims; they have no independent verification and there's no guarantee of results (Terms of Use: no specific number of views, followers or sales is guaranteed).
Which assistants does Ootto work with, and how do you connect it?
First create an Ootto account and add your brand (enter your website, your Instagram username or a one-sentence description of what you sell; Ootto reads it and writes up your brand, which you can correct). Connecting Instagram is optional; if you don't, Ootto researches and produces but can't post. The connector address is the same everywhere:
› https://mcp.ootto.ai/mcp- In Claude, open Customize from the sidebar and go to the Connectors section.
- Choose + Add and Add custom connector. The steps are the same in claude.ai and Claude Desktop.
- Enter Ootto as the name and paste the address above as the URL; leave the advanced settings blank.
- Press Connect, sign in to Ootto with the same account and click Allow. There's no key to copy.
!Ootto isn't in Claude's Discover (directory) section; searching there returns nothing. The support page describes the same path as "Settings, then Connectors"; the menu name may look different depending on the version.
› claude mcp add --transport http ootto https://mcp.ootto.ai/mcpSign in to Ootto when prompted.
Open the ~/.cursor/mcp.json file (for a single project, .cursor/mcp.json in that project) or add a custom MCP server from Cursor settings, and enter:
› { "mcpServers": { "ootto": { "url": "https://mcp.ootto.ai/mcp" } } }Cursor shows Ootto in the MCP list and asks you to sign in; sign in in the browser and click Allow. If Cursor never asks you to sign in, the Ootto page says to append the key from your account to the end of the address; that key is as good as your account itself, so don't share it with anyone.
Ootto's support page lists both but gives no detailed steps. ChatGPT: add Ootto as a custom connector with the same address and sign in to Ootto when prompted. Grok: on the grok.com/connectors page choose New Connector, then Custom, and enter the address.
Menus in ChatGPT and Grok may change. The home page also lists Muse but gives no setup steps.
How do you use Ootto?
Once connected, you write your request in a normal sentence. A new Reel takes a few minutes; you can ask the assistant to check its status. What it produces lands first in your Ootto library, and posting happens after your approval.
!Give scheduling and posting commands (for example "post on Friday at 6:00 PM") only after you like the Reel. They produce public results on your Instagram account.
What does Ootto access, and what does it write?
Your website, Instagram bio, post captions and past Reels (to learn the brand); Reels from creators in your niche; your own post performance and the comments on your posts.
Your brand record (saving is a separate, explicit step), and Reels and carousels to your Ootto library. The old cut stays after a revision.
After your approval, posting and scheduling on Instagram; comment replies and DMs (separate request). These require your Instagram account to be connected.
Remove Ootto in Claude under Customize > Connectors; disconnect Instagram in Ootto under Accounts. Either one stops Ootto from acting on your behalf.
!This connector carries three risks at once: it accesses your Instagram account, reads comments and DMs coming from outside, and if you allow it, posts and replies on your account. Text planted in comments may try to steer the assistant; check comment-reply and DM steps yourself before sending. Because the server is closed source and a hosted service, its code isn't public; no advisories are listed under the name "ootto" in GitHub and OSV records, but that doesn't mean the server could be scanned and it doesn't mean "safe".
On a team account: Ootto's pricing page says that on Claude Team or Enterprise, an owner must add the connector. The steps in Claude's admin screen aren't covered here; if you'll use it on your team, check with your admin.
Is Ootto free, and how much does it cost?
No. There's no free plan and no free trial; every plan is charged at full price as soon as you subscribe. Prices are in dollars; local-currency pricing and tax information aren't in the official sources (payments are processed by Paddle; it doesn't say whether tax is included).
| Plan | Price | What it gives (official page) |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly | $10/week | Claude connector, 1 brand, up to 16 Reels per week; billed weekly |
| Self-serve | $48/month | Up to 100 Reels per month, niche research, ideas, Reel revisions, posting after approval, comment replies, voice cloning, up to 50 brands |
| Done-for-you Starter | $199/month | Ootto produces for you, no Claude needed; 3 Reels + 2 carousels + 3 stories per week |
| Done-for-you | $499/month | 7 Reels + 2 carousels + 3 stories per week; you can also use Ootto in your own Claude |
Starter's monthly Reels count differs between pages: the pricing page says 13, the refund policy says 10. Plans include monthly credits (Self-serve 600, one Reel render costs 6 credits); credits can't be exchanged for cash. Ootto says the connector works on every Claude plan (including the free plan); this is Ootto's own claim.

What data does Ootto keep, and who gets it?
According to the privacy policy (October 5, 2026), Ootto keeps: email and sign-in information, plan and payment status (Paddle processes card details; Ootto doesn't see them), the Instagram connection token and the data you allow (profile, media, comments), your brand information, produced Reels and calendar, commenters' usernames with a short snippet of their comment (as leads), and a log of requests made through the connector.
- Services it uses: Supabase (database and sign-in), Paddle (payments), Composio (brokers the Instagram connection), Meta/Instagram, Anthropic (brand profile, in-app assistant and Reel scripts), Runway (some visuals inside Reels), Vercel, Sentry, PostHog, Google Calendar or Cal.com (demo bookings).
- If you disconnect Instagram or revoke the key, Ootto stops using it; produced Reels, leads and billing records aren't deleted automatically. To have them deleted, you need to send an email.
- You own the content you upload; Ootto uses it and what it produces only to provide and improve the service (Terms of Use). This is not legal advice.
Common problems
| What happens | What to do |
|---|---|
| Connecting Instagram asks for a sign-in on the phone | The connection opens Instagram's web sign-in and asks for your password. Reset your password or connect from a computer. |
| "We didn't hear back from Instagram" | The sign-in wasn't completed. Press Connect again or continue with "Skip for now"; you can connect Instagram later from Accounts. |
| Claude sends you to set up a brand first | Ootto works from a brand: enter your website or Instagram username and confirm what it read; the connection finishes by returning to Claude. |
| Ootto doesn't show up when searched in Claude | It isn't in the directory; add the address manually with Add custom connector. |
| The Reel still hasn't arrived | A new Reel takes a few minutes. Ask the assistant to check its status or follow it in the Ootto app. |
How do you cancel Ootto, and are there refunds?
- Cancellation: You can cancel anytime from the billing page of your Ootto account; access lasts until the end of the period you paid for, and there's no cancellation fee.
- First-payment refund: If you email within 14 days of the first payment, the first payment for the Self-serve, Done-for-you Starter and Done-for-you plans is fully refunded. The Weekly plan isn't on this list.
- Renewals: Renewals and unused periods are generally not refunded; Ootto reviews each request individually. Refunds return to the payment method within 5-7 business days.
- Disconnect: Regardless of cancellation, remove the connector in Claude and disconnect Instagram in Ootto (see the access section).
