What Is Cal.com For?
It ends the "which day works for you" back-and-forth with clients. You define your available days and hours once; Cal.com checks the calendar you've connected, hides the busy slots and gives you a booking link. The client picks a time from the link; the meeting lands on both calendars, and a Zoom or Google Meet link can be added. The client can cancel or move to another time with the secure link in the same email.
Who it's for: businesses that work by appointment (clinics, consultants, beauty salons, tutors) and teams that take sales calls. In DijiKoçum's appointment and reminder setups, Cal.com is the calendar layer, and reminders and records are handled in n8n.
How Do You Get Started with Cal.com?
- Create an account: create an individual (free) account on cal.com.
- Connect your calendar: Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar; conflicting times are hidden automatically.
- Set your availability: Day and time ranges, buffer time before and after meetings, minimum notice.
- Create an event type: E.g., "30 min intro call"; duration, location (Zoom, Meet, phone, in person) and questions to ask the client.
- Share the link: Embed it on your site, or put it in WhatsApp or your Instagram bio.
If you use Calendly, the one-click import listed on the pricing page is included on the free plan.
How Do You Connect Cal.com to n8n with a Webhook?
A webhook is Cal.com automatically sending data to an address you provide when an event happens. When a booking is created, canceled or rescheduled, n8n receives that data; the reminder message, CRM record or team notification is set up in n8n.
- In n8n: Add a Webhook node to a new workflow, set the method to POST and copy the production URL.
- In Cal.com: create a new webhook on the /settings/developer/webhooks page and paste the n8n address into the Subscriber URL field.
- Choose the events: Booking Created, Booking Cancelled, Booking Rescheduled; meeting started/ended if needed.
- Enter a secret: Cal.com signs every delivery with the x-cal-signature-256 header; by verifying it on the n8n side, you filter out fake requests.
- Test it: Book a test appointment through your own link and check the incoming data in n8n (payload: title, start/end time, attendees).

There's also an API: keys are created under Settings then Security, with 120 requests per minute per API key. The separate "Platform" plan hasn't accepted new sign-ups since December 15, 2025.

Teams and Organizations come with a 14-day trial; Enterprise has custom pricing. The page shows the amounts as "annual, save 25%"; the monthly-billed amount isn't shown in the static version of the page, so check it on the checkout screen. Prices are in dollars; tax treatment isn't stated.
!The SMS reminder quota and sending to Turkish phone numbers are not stated on the official pricing page. Sending reminders through n8n with your own SMS or WhatsApp provider removes this uncertainty.

Is Cal.com Open Source? Can I Self-Host It?
The calcom/cal.com address on GitHub now redirects to the calcom/cal.diy repository: the MIT-licensed community edition. Enterprise code such as teams, organizations, insights, workflows and SSO has been removed from Cal.diy. The README recommends personal and non-production use and points to Cal.com's own service for commercial use.
- Requirements: Node.js, yarn, Git and PostgreSQL; Linux is recommended for production.
- On a self-hosted install, webhooks can also be sent to HTTP and private IP addresses.
- The server, updates and backups are on you.
Because the reminder workflow in the appointment kit is built in n8n, the free plan of the cloud version is enough for most small businesses; in most cases, self-hosting isn't necessary.

| Data locationPartly | Data is processed in the US. EU hosting is on Organizations and Enterprise; the privacy policy points to privacy@cal.com. |
| GDPR, DPA, SOC 2Yes | ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II; a downloadable DPA; the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and SCCs. |

Common Problems and Fixes
| What's happening | What to do |
|---|---|
| The webhook won't save; the address is rejected | The Cal.com cloud only accepts HTTPS; localhost, http and private IPs are blocked. Use n8n's public HTTPS address. |
| No data reaches n8n | In n8n, give the production URL, not the test URL, and make sure the workflow is active. Book a test appointment and check again. |
| I can't set up a custom reminder | The free plan only has template workflows; custom workflows are on Teams. Alternative: send the reminder with a webhook + n8n. |
| Stripe won't connect | Turkey isn't on Stripe's list of countries. Try PayPal, or take payment separately from the booking. |
