What is Dify? Visual AI workflows, free Sandbox, pricing, self-hosting, license and data
In Dify you connect models, tools and your documents in a visual interface to build a chat app, a workflow or an agent. There is both the hosted Dify Cloud and the open-source Community edition you install on your own server. Cloud has a free Sandbox (5 apps, 200 message credits). You can run it free on your own server, but the license adds conditions. Dify does not ship its own model; you connect your own model key.

What does Dify do? Can I use it without code?
In Dify you connect AI models, a knowledge base (an assistant that answers from your own documents) and tools in a visual flow; the result is a chat app, a workflow or an agent, and it can also be exposed as an API. You choose the model provider (your own API key or Dify's credits).
Largely yes: apps are built visually in the browser. You sign in to Dify Cloud with GitHub, Google or an email code. Installing it on your own server requires Docker and the command line.
Who it helps: teams and developers who want to build an assistant or automation that works with their own documents.
How do you self-host Dify?
- Install Docker and Docker Compose 2.24.0 or later (at least a 2-core CPU and 4 GiB RAM).
- Use the command in the docs to download the repository at the latest release tag and go into the docker folder.
- Config file:
cp .env.example .env - Start:
docker compose up -d - Open http://localhost/install in your browser and complete the initial setup.
!Security advisories: GitHub lists high-severity records in 2026 (July 15 and August 19, 2026; cross-tenant access). The fixed version is not clear from these sources; always run the latest version on your own server.

Community (your own server) is free with a single workspace; SSO and multiple workspaces are reserved for Enterprise. Prices are in US dollars, excluding tax. The pricing page shows yearly prices by default; the monthly values come from the page source. The pricing page does not call the Sandbox's 200 credits "monthly"; the billing documentation says they are one-time and do not renew monthly.
!License: the pricing page describes Community as "for non-commercial projects", but the LICENSE file (Apache 2.0 plus additional conditions) allows commercial use. Two cases require written permission: running a multi-tenant service with the Dify source code, and removing the logo or copyright notice. If you plan to embed it in your product or offer it as a service, get written clarification from Dify.

Where is my data, and does Dify support Turkish?
LangGenius states that it does not train models and will not use your AI interaction data for training. If you use your own API key, the data goes to the model provider you chose and its rules apply.
Data is kept while the account is active; if you do not sign in for 24 months, the account and data may be deleted. Deletion: from account settings; deleted data cannot be recovered. Turkey and KVKK (Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law) are not mentioned; data may be processed in more than one country.
The user documentation lists English and Chinese as interface languages; the source code marks tr-TR as a supported language. The documentation does not clarify whether it appears in the Cloud menu. The response language depends on the model you connect; documentation is only in English, Chinese and Japanese.
Cancel: Settings then Billing then Manage › cancel. The plan runs until the end of the period, then reverts to Sandbox. Under the terms, there is no refund for the current period.
