The 5 Questions Clients Ask a Digital Marketing Agency Most.

Not a sales pitch. Where we can't give a number, we write "we can't."

Short answer

In digital marketing, how long results take depends on the type of work: with ads, the first data arrives within 48 hours and you need 7–14 days to make a decision; the effect of technical fixes is measured in 2–4 weeks, and changes in content and visibility take 3 months or more. Because rankings and AI answers are decided by third-party algorithms, results can't be guaranteed. When you switch agencies, ownership of the domain, hosting and ad accounts should be with the business.

  1. How long until results?

The honest answer depends on the type of work. Giving a single number would be misleading:

    • Ads — first data in 48 hours, 7–14 days to make a decision.
    • Technical fixes — the effect is measured within 2–4 weeks.
    • Content and visibility — meaningful change takes 3 months or more.

Red flag: Don't sign a proposal that promises "number one in a month." Nobody can commit to rankings; anyone who does is changing the yardstick.

  2. Do you give guarantees?

We don't guarantee results. What we do give is different, and in writing:

    • At the start of the month, which work will be done.
    • At the end of the month, which number will be read.
    • If the work wasn't done, no fee is charged for that month.

Why it's this way: Rankings and AI answers are decided by third-party algorithms. The only thing we can commit to is the work we do ourselves.

  3. What does the price depend on?

There's no single list price; three things change it. In a proposal, we ask about these three:

    • The state of the site. Are we taking over an existing site, or starting from scratch?
    • The number of channels. Just the site, or ads and social too?
    • Who produces the content. If you have a team, the cost goes down.

Transparency: The ad budget and the agency fee are separate line items. A proposal that merges the two into one number is a proposal where you can't see your spend.

  4. Do we even need an agency?

Sometimes you don't, and saying so is part of our job. Here's where the line is:

    • A one-page brochure site, no regular ads → do it yourself. The tools are enough.
    • If appointments, payments, inventory and measurement are connected to each other → you need help.
    • If your ad spend has exceeded one person's salary → measurement is a must.
  5. What should I ask for when switching agencies?

If you didn't get these four when you left, you're not the owner of the work you paid for:

    • Ownership of the domain and hosting accounts is yours
    • Owner access in Google Ads, Analytics and Search Console is yours
    • Primary ownership of the Business Profile is yours
    • The ad account and pixel are in your Business Manager

Check this today: Don't wait until you leave to ask about these four items. Look today; each one takes five minutes.
