What Is HyperFrames? Making Video with HTML, Is It Free, Using It with Claude Code, Remotion Differences and Telemetry
You write the video in plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript (or have a coding agent write it), and HyperFrames renders it as MP4. It is HeyGen's open-source library under the Apache 2.0 license; the README says there is no per-render fee or commercial-use threshold, and no account is needed locally. There is no official pricing for HeyGen cloud rendering or the hosted MCP. There are plugins for Claude Code and Codex; the agent's own plan is needed separately. The CLI collects anonymous telemetry (it can be turned off). The difference from Remotion: it uses HTML instead of React, and the license terms.

What is HyperFrames for? How it differs from Remotion
In HyperFrames you write the video in plain HTML: scenes, timing, text, images and audio are defined with HTML elements and JavaScript animations, and the CLI renders it to MP4. HeyGen states in the README that it uses it in production. The Studio app in the documentation is only for Mac and Linux; Windows setup for the CLI is covered in the troubleshooting guide.
| HyperFrames | Remotion | |
|---|---|---|
| Authoring | Plain HTML | React |
| License | Apache 2.0 | Source-available, not OSI open source; free for individuals and companies of up to 3 people |
The comparison is based on the “HyperFrames vs Remotion” guide in the official HyperFrames documentation and on the Remotion license page; the HyperFrames documentation also states that Remotion is more mature.
Is HyperFrames free? Cloud rendering and pricing
Local use is free: Apache 2.0 license, no per-render fee or commercial-use threshold, and no account needed. Two things fall outside the free part: pricing for HeyGen cloud rendering and the hosted MCP is not in the official documentation (it only says 4K is billed at 1.5x and archives are limited to 200 MB); and agent use in Studio is charged to the agent's own plan (Claude Code, Codex). There is no local-currency pricing.
How do you use HyperFrames with Claude Code?
- Add the marketplace:
claude plugin marketplace add heygen-com/hyperframes - Install the plugin:
claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes - Open Claude Code and start with the /hyperframes:hyperframes command.
The README counts 21 skills, but its table has 20 rows; the 21st skill (hyperframes-studio) is missing from the table. Agent support for Turkish prompts, voice and captions is not stated in the official documentation; the docs are English only.
HyperFrames telemetry and platforms
The CLI collects anonymous telemetry. If you sign in, your HeyGen email is linked to usage. To turn it off: HYPERFRAMES_NO_TELEMETRY=1, DO_NOT_TRACK=1 or npx hyperframes telemetry disable.
The Studio desktop app is only for Mac and Linux; a Windows app is not in the documentation.
If you use cloud rendering, assume your content goes to HeyGen; read the official privacy policy for details (relevant for KVKK, Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law).
