What is Google Stitch? Is it free, how to use it, export to Figma and code, and connect it to Claude Code
You give Google Stitch a written description, a sketch or a screenshot of a site; it generates an app or website interface (screen design), and you export the design to Figma, HTML code, Google AI Studio or coding tools like Claude Code. It's a Google Labs tool. It's free with a personal Google account; there is no paid plan, but there is a daily credit limit. Google does not say whether Turkey is among the supported countries; Stitch's own FAQ also says "English only", yet the app contains Turkish menu text too. Try stitch.withgoogle.com to see whether it opens on your account.

What is Google Stitch used for?
Stitch is a tool that draws the screens of an app or website (its interface design) with AI. You write what you want and describe a mood, such as "a warm, friendly yoga app" (Google calls this the "vibe"); Stitch returns the screens and the front-end code. Google announced it in May 2025 as a Google Labs experiment.
Stitch is for seeing a design quickly without coding: what it produces is a design and front-end code (HTML/CSS). It does not write the back end of a working app (database, login system); you export it to a tool like Google AI Studio or Antigravity and add that later.
Who it's for: business owners, founders, agencies and designers with a website or app idea; anyone who wants to show a client a draft. If you're a designer, you continue editing in Figma.
How to get into Stitch: account, age and the "not available for your account" error
Stitch is a web tool: nothing to download, no phone app. You go to stitch.withgoogle.com and sign in with your Google account. On first sign-in, Google asks you to accept the Stitch Additional Terms of Service, the Stitch Privacy Notice and the Google Terms of Service.
The home page says "Requires a personal Google Account". Google does not say whether Workspace (work) or school accounts work; try a personal Gmail account.
Available to people over 18. If the date of birth on your Google account isn't verified, or shows you as under 18, Stitch won't open. The Google team names this as one of the main reasons for blocked accounts (forum, October 9, 2026).
Stitch's FAQ says "in 212 countries, English only, 18+". Google does not say whether Turkey is on that list, and the list itself isn't published. Mainland China is not supported (Google team, September 17, 2026).
Reported by users Some comments suggest getting around the country block with a VPN. Google doesn't offer this as a solution, and the country your account is tied to is checked too (on the forum, a Chinese account didn't open through a Japan-based VPN). This route is not recommended.
!If you see "This service isn't available for your account" or "Sorry, Stitch is not available": first re-verify your age in your Google account, sign out and back in, and try a different personal account. The Google team gives an unsupported region as another reason for the block.
In the comments of a Turkish-language YouTube video, one user writes that they got the same error on several accounts with a Pro membership Reported by users. This is a single report; it does not mean there is a general block in Turkey, and the official sources don't say.
How to use Google Stitch: writing prompts and designing from images
- Start a new design. Choose what you are designing: a native mobile app, desktop web (responsive web) or tablet.
- Write what you want. Describe the app briefly. You can start with a general idea ("an app for marathon runners") or write it out in detail.
- Add an image if you like. Add a sketch, a wireframe or a screenshot of a site (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF). The app says under 10 MB; another warning says 5 MB.
- Edit the screens. Select a screen and ask for one change at a time, such as "make this button bigger". You can also edit text and images directly on the canvas.
- Export what you like. Figma, HTML, AI Studio or Netlify (see the "Export" section below).
Google's official Prompt Guide recommends three things: work incrementally rather than starting over; describe the feel with adjectives (minimalist, vibrant, warm); ask for one or two changes at a time. With a long prompt full of requests, Stitch may skip some parts.
- DESIGN.md is a plain text file that describes a product's visual rules (color, typeface, spacing). Google open-sourced the format on April 21, 2026.
- Stitch can extract a design system from a website address, a Figma .fig file, a GitHub repository or a DESIGN.md you paste in, and apply it to new screens.
- It is used to carry the same rules into another Stitch project or to hand them to a tool like Claude Code.
!Stitch can make mistakes and won't give the same result every time. Review the generated design and code yourself before publishing (the Stitch Additional Terms of Service also expect you to review it).
Voice and Live mode: hold the Space key on the canvas and speak (speech recognition needs a browser like Chrome). The app calls this mode "Preview" and sometimes says it is "temporarily unavailable".
Where Stitch is used: the canvas and coding tools
You use Stitch in two places: on the canvas in your browser (the main place) and from inside a coding tool via MCP. There is no phone or desktop app.
The canvas is an infinite workspace: you lay your screens side by side, link them, and add context with photos, text or code snippets. On March 18, 2026, Google rebuilt the Stitch interface around this canvas, a design agent and voice control.
Exporting from Stitch to Figma, code, AI Studio and Netlify
| Destination | What happens | Watch out |
|---|---|---|
| Figma | The design is pasted into Figma as editable layers (Cmd/Ctrl+V). You can also import screens from Figma (.fig file up to 200 MB) | Standard Mode only; not available in projects generated from an image or imported. The HTML goes to the code.to.design service for conversion and falls under its terms |
| HTML / PNG / ZIP | Download a screen's static HTML code, its image, or all screens | The code is static code that matches the design and the Figma output; it doesn't write logic |
| Google AI Studio | Selected screens (up to 16) open in AI Studio with their HTML and images; you get a shareable link there | Exporting many screens can take a few minutes |
| Netlify | Publishes one screen as a live website; you then claim the address | The published site is public; don't put personal content on it |
| React app | Generates an interactive React app from the screens you select | It's a starting point; the rest is up to you |
Images you upload to Stitch get a permanent public address to support HTML export (the app's own warning). Don't upload confidential or client-owned images.
How to connect Stitch to Claude Code, Cursor and Antigravity: MCP, API key, skills
MCP is a way for an AI tool to connect to another service. With Stitch's MCP connection, you say "design me a dashboard" in your terminal or coding tool; Stitch generates the screen and the code lands in your project. The app lists these clients: Antigravity, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and VS Code.
- Sign in to Stitch, then choose "Create API key" in Settings.
- Choose your coding tool. Pick the client on the "Set up MCP" screen in Settings; a ready-made configuration or prompt is copied.
- Add the connection to your coding tool. Paste the configuration into the tool's MCP settings. On first use, the extension asks for the API key. Detailed steps: stitch.withgoogle.com/docs/mcp/setup.
- Add skills (optional). Google Labs' stitch-skills repository provides ready-made skills.
› npx plugins add google-labs-code/stitch-skills --scope project --target claude-code› npx skills add google-labs-code/stitch-skills| Plugin | Skills (README) |
|---|---|
| stitch-design | generate-design (generate, edit and vary screens), code-to-design, manage-design-system, extract-design-md, extract-static-html, upload-to-stitch |
| stitch-build | react-components, react-native, react-vite-dashboard, shadcn-ui, remotion (walkthrough video) |
| stitch-utilities | design-md, enhance-prompt, stitch-loop (multi-page site from a single prompt), taste-design |
!The stitch-skills repository carries the note "not an officially supported Google product". The skills don't work without the Stitch MCP server installed. You put the API key in your coding tool's settings file; don't share it with anyone.
Source: GitHub README and the MCP screen in the Stitch app (October 14, 2026). The Google team's forum has reports of API key creation errors ("Failed to create API key"); if it persists, try again from Settings or report it on the forum.
Which model? Speed or quality?
Stitch doesn't run on a single model. The mode you pick when starting a new design determines which Gemini model is used and which image model kicks in for visuals. The descriptions in the table are the app's own selector text; Google doesn't separately say which mode name maps to which description.
| Model | What it's for, in the app's own words | Speed | Which plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite | Fast collaboration, "and the quality is pretty good too" | Fastest | No plan tiers; free |
| Gemini 3.8 Flash | A balance between speed and high quality | Medium | No plan tiers; free |
| Gemini 3.1 Pro | Maximum quality and reasoning over speed; attention to detail | Slower | No plan tiers; free |
| Gemini 3 Flash | High-quality design as HTML; export to coding agents | Fast | No plan tiers; free |
| Nano Banana / Nano Banana Pro | Image model: exploring creative directions; redesigning an existing app or site from a screenshot | Image generation | No plan tiers; Redesign may have its own daily quota |
- Trying out ideas, lots of quick drafts: fast model
- A polished draft to show a client: balanced model
- A complex, detailed screen: Pro (high quality)
- Redrawing an existing site from a screenshot: image model (Redesign)
Google doesn't say how many credits each model uses. Don't assume Pro and redesign use more credits; track it yourself with the "Today's usage" counter in Settings.
Figma export and theme controls only work in Standard Mode. So start any design you'll take to Figma in Standard Mode.
Section checked on October 14, 2026; model names and selector descriptions come from the Stitch app's TR and EN bundles. Google doesn't state the mapping: the "which one to choose" row is inferred from these descriptions, so try two models on your own work and compare. The name "Hatter agent" also appears in one option's description; Google doesn't explain what it is.
Is Google Stitch free? Daily credits and limits
Yes. The home page says "Free"; no credit card is required. The Google team said on the forum that "there is no paid plan right now" (October 3, 2025). You get a credit/screen allowance each day; once it runs out, you wait until the next day.
Free. No price, no tax, no subscription. If a paid plan is added in the future, Google will announce it; no such plan appears at sign-up right now.
The app's Settings show "Daily credits" and "Today's usage". When the limit is reached, a message says you've reached your daily screen generation limit and that it will reset tomorrow.
Google doesn't publish a fixed number on any page. The Google team said "150 designs a day" on the forum on December 2, 2025, and wrote on January 19, 2026 that the limit had doubled. Reported by users Some on Reddit report 400 credits a day; there is no official confirmation. Check the limit on your own Settings screen.
The Google team said "based on local time" in January 2026 and "00:00 UTC" in August 2026 (03:00 Turkey time). These contradict each other; if your screen doesn't reset, try a small edit or refresh the site and sign in again.
Redesigning a screen (Redesign) may be tied to a separate daily quota; the app describes it as "a temporary quota for the launch period".
There is no extra allowance to buy. The Google team points to a form on the forum (contact the Stitch team); there is no guarantee of a higher limit.
Limit numbers change often; don't rely on the numbers in this section, check Settings. Source: the Stitch app (October 14, 2026) and Google team replies on the Google AI forum (with dates).
Does Google Stitch work in Turkish? Do Turkish prompts work?
| Turkish prompts and design textUnclear | Google doesn't say. The Prompt Guide shows translating the text in a design into another language (Spanish); there is no Turkish example. Write in Turkish and check the on-screen text yourself. |
|---|---|
| Interface (menus)Partly | The app bundle contains Turkish menu text (for example the Turkish labels for "Daily credits", "Standard Mode" and "Export"), while Google's FAQ says the site is offered "in English only". The official sources don't make clear whether the menus show in Turkish depending on your account; check on your own account. |
| Voice designUnclear | Google doesn't say which languages it works in; the mode is "Preview". Try it in English, then in Turkish too. |
| Mobile appNo | No phone or desktop app; it is a web tool. |
For headings with Turkish characters and long Turkish words, check on screen whether the design truncates them; when in doubt, fix the text by hand.
What happens to what I type and the images I upload to Stitch?
Stitch Privacy Notice (last updated September 30, 2026): by default, models are not trained on your data. If you opt in, Stitch can learn from activity traces and feedback inside Stitch. No training is done on an entire connected codebase or on third-party data such as GitHub.
A sample of your data may be reviewed by trained human reviewers to ensure quality.
When you give feedback, your prompt, conversation, uploads and outputs are collected too; Google uses them to improve the product.
Images you upload to Stitch get a permanent public address for HTML export. Don't upload confidential or client-owned images.
If you make a project public, anyone with the link can see the design and the code. You can turn access off later, but remix copies others have taken are not deleted. Content created by someone else gets a warning that it "may be inaccurate or unsafe".
When you export to AI Studio, Netlify, Bolt, Lovable and Figma (code.to.design), your content falls under that service's terms. Stitch uses the subprocessor Composio Inc. (US) for tool and API connections.
Additional Terms of Service: Stitch output may not always be accurate. You must verify the output, especially code changes. If you authorize the tool to act autonomously, you are responsible for the results.
Data is processed by Google, and the terms mention processing in the US. Under KVKK (Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law), mask any image containing client personal data before uploading it. This is not legal advice.
Source: Stitch Privacy Notice and Additional Terms of Service (in the app, September 30, 2026), subprocessor table (September 9, 2026), Google Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy. The Stitch pages don't describe account deletion steps.
Can I use designs I make in Stitch for commercial work?
Stitch's own FAQ answers this: Google does not claim ownership of the original designs and code you create with Stitch (Google Terms of Service: "Some of our services give you the opportunity to create original content. Google won't claim ownership over that content."). Reviewing and complying with the terms is your responsibility.
- Using the design you create in client presentations, on your site or in your app
- Exporting the design to Figma and editing it, copying the code into your project
- Generating content that violates the Prohibited Use Policy (illegal, harmful, deceptive, sexually explicit, etc.)
- Using generated content to get around safety measures
- Infringing someone else's trademark, copyright or personality rights
Source: Stitch FAQ (in the app), Google Terms of Service, Google Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy (last modified December 17, 2024). This is not legal advice. Output may resemble someone else's work; check brands and images yourself before publishing.
Common problems and fixes
| What's happening | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Not available for your account" / "Stitch is not available" | Re-verify your date of birth (18 or older) in your Google account, sign out and back in, try another personal account. The Google team also names an unsupported region as a cause (forum, 2026). |
| Designs look unstyled, like compressed HTML | Clear Stitch's site data and cookies; tell Stitch "Re-compile this screen, inject the required Tailwind CSS utility classes, and render the styling properly." (Google team, October 12, 2026). |
| Project list won't load / can't create a project | Users reported this during busy periods for Stitch (e.g. October 2026). Sign out and in, try a different browser; if it persists, post in the Stitch category on the forum. The Google team replies to these threads with "passed to the team". |
| Daily credits don't reset | Google team: credits reset at 00:00 UTC; the counter sometimes lags. Try a small edit on a screen; if that fails, clear site data and sign in again (August 16, 2026). |
| I accidentally deleted or redesigned a screen | Cmd+Z / Ctrl+Z undoes it (Google team, April 16, 2026). Deleting a project warns that it will be "permanently deleted"; export important designs to Figma or HTML. |
| The design forgets earlier settings in a long conversation | Google team: select the screen you want to change, refer to it by its screen name and write the change; in a new project, add the same layout as a reference. Don't mix several changes in one prompt. |
| It makes a dark theme, I want a light one | Reported by users Writing "light colors" and "white background" in the prompt, or locking the colors with DESIGN.md, helps. No official fix is documented. |
Canceling Stitch, deleting projects and getting your data out
Because Stitch is free, there's no subscription to cancel, no refund and no invoice.
- To delete a project, choose "Delete project" in the project. The app says "This action cannot be undone".
- Before deleting, export important screens to Figma, HTML or PNG/ZIP (there is also a Download project option).
- Deleting all Stitch data for your account: the Stitch pages don't list the steps. You can look at your Google account's data settings (myactivity.google.com); Google doesn't say whether this deletes your Stitch history.
Source: the Stitch app (Delete project, Download project) and the Privacy Notice, October 14, 2026. Former Galileo AI users can upload and view their chat history in Settings, but cannot continue it in Stitch.

Stitch, Figma, Claude or Canva?
Figma (a separate design program) is a product independent of Stitch: Stitch generates screens, while Figma is where a team edits and maintains them. You use them together: export from Stitch to Figma and refine it there.
Frequently asked questions
Is Google Stitch free?
Yes. The home page says "Free" and no credit card is required. There is no paid plan. There is a daily credit limit; Google doesn't publish the number on any page, but you can see it in the app's Settings as "Daily credits" and "Today's usage".
How do you use Google Stitch?
You sign in at stitch.withgoogle.com with your personal Google account. You start a new design and write what you want (optionally adding a sketch or a screenshot), and Stitch generates the screens. You select a screen and ask for changes one at a time, then export to Figma, HTML or AI Studio.
What is Google Stitch and what is it used for?
It's a Google Labs tool that designs app and website interfaces with AI. It generates screens and front-end code from your description or an image, extracts a design system, and links screens into a clickable prototype.
Is Stitch paid, how much per month?
There is no paid plan. The Google team said on the forum that "there is no paid plan right now" (October 3, 2025), and the Stitch home page also says "Free". This may change in the future.
What is the Google Stitch daily limit?
There's no fixed number on any official page. The Google team said 150 designs a day on the forum on December 2, 2025, and wrote on January 19, 2026 that the limit had doubled. The limit changes often; see your own counter in Settings. Once it runs out, it resets the next day.
When do Stitch credits reset?
The Google team said "based on local time" in January 2026 and "00:00 UTC" in August 2026 (03:00 Turkey time). These contradict each other; if the counter doesn't refresh, try a small edit or clear site data and sign in again.
Does Google Stitch work in Turkey?
Google only says "in 212 countries, 18+" and doesn't publish the list; it doesn't officially say Turkey is included. You need to sign in at stitch.withgoogle.com with your account and try. If you see "not available for your account", verify your age in your Google account.
Why does Stitch say "not available for your account"?
The Google team gives two reasons: the age on your Google account isn't verified (it shows you as under 18), or an unsupported region. First re-verify your age, sign out and back in, and try another personal account.
Does Stitch support Turkish, can you write prompts in Turkish?
Google says nothing about Turkish prompts; the Prompt Guide shows translating design text into another language with a Spanish example. The app bundle contains Turkish menu text, but the FAQ says "English only". Write in Turkish and check the result yourself.
How do you export from Stitch to Figma?
You select screens and copy them to Figma; the design is pasted into Figma as editable layers (Cmd/Ctrl+V). It works only in Standard Mode; it is not available in projects generated from an image or imported.
Does Stitch give you code, how do you get the HTML?
Yes. You copy or download a screen's static HTML/CSS code; the code matches the design but contains no back-end logic. You can also send screens to Google AI Studio (up to 16 screens), Antigravity, Netlify (one screen), Bolt and Lovable.
Can you build an app with Stitch?
It generates the design and front-end code, and it can also produce a React app. For a fully working app (database, login system), you export the design to Google AI Studio or Antigravity and add the logic there.
Can Stitch create a design from a screenshot?
Yes. You add a sketch, a wireframe or a screenshot of a site and have it redesigned (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF; the app says under 10 MB, one warning says 5 MB). A project can hold up to 50 images.
How do you set up Stitch MCP, does it connect to Claude Code?
Yes. You create an API key in Stitch Settings and choose the client on the "Set up MCP" screen; Claude Code, Cursor, Antigravity, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and VS Code are on the list. You can also install ready-made skills from the stitch-skills repository.
How do you use Stitch in Claude Code?
You add the MCP to Claude Code and give it the API key; then you say "design me a dashboard" in the terminal and Stitch generates the screen. For ready-made skills, use the command npx plugins add google-labs-code/stitch-skills --scope project --target claude-code.
What is DESIGN.md?
A plain text file that describes a product's visual rules (color, typeface, spacing). Google open-sourced the format on April 21, 2026. Stitch extracts it from a site address or a file and applies it to new screens.
Which model does Stitch use?
According to the app's descriptions, Gemini models (fast, balanced and high-quality options) and the Nano Banana image models. Google doesn't separately say which mode name maps to which model; the table is in the "Which model?" section.
Can I use designs I make in Stitch commercially?
According to the Stitch FAQ, Google does not claim ownership of the designs and code you create. Reviewing and complying with the terms is up to you. This is not legal advice.
Does Stitch use my data to train models?
Stitch Privacy Notice (September 30, 2026): no training by default, but if you opt in it can learn from activity traces. Sample data may be reviewed by human reviewers; if you give feedback, the content is collected too. Uploaded images get a public address.
Is Stitch a mobile app, can you download it?
No. It is a web tool only: stitch.withgoogle.com. There is no phone or desktop app. You can also use it from coding tools via MCP.
Stitch or Figma?
They do different jobs. Stitch generates screens with AI; Figma is where teams edit and maintain designs. Most people draft in Stitch, then export to Figma and refine it there.
Can you cancel Stitch, is there a subscription?
There's no subscription and nothing to cancel. Deleting a project is permanent; export important screens to Figma, HTML or ZIP first. Stitch doesn't describe the steps for deleting your account's Stitch data.
Stitch crashes or won't load, what should I do?
Sign out and in, clear site data and cookies, try another browser. If HTML looks unstyled, the Google team suggests clearing the site and telling Stitch to recompile the screen and add the Tailwind classes. If it persists, report it in the Stitch category of the Google AI forum.
Is Stitch Galileo AI?
The Stitch FAQ mentions former Galileo AI users: they can upload and view their chat history in Settings, but cannot continue it in Stitch. (Stitch FAQ)
