You open an account at midjourney.com with Google or Discord; the interface is in English and Korean, with no Turkish. The current default version is V8.2; there is a separate Niji 7 for anime. To carry the look of an image you like into new images, there are Style Reference and Moodboard; to build a personal style from your likes, there is Personalization. Describe is used to extract a prompt from an image.
Who it's for: designers, content creators, architects, product and fashion professionals, agencies. There is no official API: the Community Guidelines prohibit automation and bot access.

Which version? V8.2, V8.1, V7, Niji 7 and video differences
Midjourney releases a new version every few months. The current default is V8.2 (since July 24, 2026). You change the version by adding something like --v 7 to the end of your prompt or in the settings; for anime, --niji 7.
| Version | What it's for, according to Midjourney | Note |
|---|---|---|
| V8.2 | Current default focused on aesthetics, image quality and Personalization; together with the Edit Model | All plans; Turbo and --q not supported |
| V8.1 | 4–5 times faster than V7; HD (2K) images and Draft | All plans |
| V7 | Omni Reference (single reference), Draft, Turbo and --q 4 | Omni Reference only in V7 |
| Niji 7 (January 9, 2026) | Anime and Eastern aesthetics; developed with Spellbrush | --niji not available in V8.1 and V8.2 |
| Video (image to video) | Turns an image into a 5-second video; up to 21 seconds with extensions | The documentation doesn't give the version name |
- General use: V8.2 (default)
- If you'll work with a single reference image (Omni): V7
- Anime and illustration: Niji 7
- Quick idea exploration: Draft (V8.1 and V8.2)
Each job has a different GPU time: HD images, Edit and especially video use much more than SD images. Turbo uses Fast time at 2x (not available in V8.1).
In V8.1 and V8.2, it changes an image with written instructions and generates with up to 4 reference images. It replaced Omni Reference and Character Reference.
Version table as of October 14, 2026; it changes often. The compatibility table shows Draft as “no” for V8.1/8.2, but the Draft article says it is available in V8.1 and V8.2; this page follows the Draft article.
