What is Gamma? Free use, pricing, presentations in Turkish, PowerPoint export and the credit system

You write a prompt or upload a document in Gamma; it prepares a presentation, document, simple website or social media content, and you edit it in the browser. There is a free plan with no card required: it gives 400 credits once at sign-up, these credits don't renew, and it generates up to 10 slides per prompt. Paid plans start at $12 a month ($9 billed annually); prices are in US dollars. It produces presentations in Turkish. You can download as PowerPoint (PPTX) and PDF, but on the free plan the file carries a "Made with Gamma" badge.

What does Gamma do?

You tell Gamma what you want, and it builds the slides, headings and images as a ready presentation. If you don't want to start from scratch, you upload an existing PowerPoint or PDF file and make it editable. Besides presentations, it also prepares documents, e-books, simple websites and LinkedIn/Instagram carousels.

You can later have the AI edit a presentation by saying "simplify this slide", or change it by hand. You share your content by link, or turn it into a site at a gamma.site address.

Who it is for: teachers, consultants, sales and marketing staff and small business owners who want to quickly draft a presentation for a meeting, class, proposal or training. If you need a precise design, you will have to edit and check the output.

Can you download Gamma, and how do you create an account?

Gamma runs in the browser; there is no program to download to your computer. The "app" in the Microsoft Store is only a shortcut that makes Gamma easier to open on Windows; it adds no features to the web version.

  1. Open gamma.app, click "Sign up for free"; sign up with Google or with an email and password. No credit card required, and disposable email addresses are not accepted.
  2. Age limit: The privacy policy says the service is not for people under 16. No official source says phone or ID verification is required.
  3. In the prompt box on the dashboard, type what you want to make. If the Cloudflare check keeps appearing, try turning off your VPN and ad blocker.

How do you use Gamma? Your first presentation

  1. In the prompt box on the dashboard, write the topic of the presentation, who you are presenting to and how many slides you want. Attach a file if you like. Choose a mode: Plan (default: the AI asks questions, shows a plan and waits for your approval), Express (generates a draft directly) or Research (checks web sources first).
  2. In Plan mode, answer the questions or say "Decide for me", then review and approve the plan. The slides fill in on screen.
  3. For changes, ask in the chat ("slide 4 is too dense, make it more visual") or select a single element in AI editing mode. Manual editing is always available.
  4. If you don't like the design, don't regenerate from scratch; ask for "a new look" and the content is kept.
  5. Download PDF, PPTX or PNG with Share › Export, or share by link. If you prefer the old generator, the dashboard has "Use classic generator".
First presentation"Create an 8-slide presentation introducing a small café to new customers: our story, menu highlights, price range, location and contact. Language: English. Use a simple, warm tone."Also choose English as the output language on the generation screen.
Keep your text"Keep my text exactly as I wrote it. Don't add, remove or rewrite anything; only do the layout and images."An example request from Gamma's import documentation. Useful when you paste your own text and don't want the AI to touch your sentences.
Simplify a slide"Cut the text on slide 4 in half, keep the three most important points and make the tone formal."

Gamma's terms say AI outputs are provided "as is" with no guarantee of accuracy. Check figures, dates and quotes yourself before presenting.

From Gamma to PowerPoint (PPTX) and PDF: the "Made with Gamma" badge

PPTXPowerPointPDFPDFPNGImage

From the Share › Export menu you download PowerPoint (PPTX), PDF or PNG; to move to Google Slides, first download PPTX and upload it to Google Slides. Word (.docx) is not available on any plan. Importing your existing PPTX and PDF files into Gamma is available on the free plan too; Excel and Keynote files are not imported directly.

How do you remove the "Made with Gamma" badge?
  • On the free plan, PDF and PPTX files you export carry the badge. The badge is determined by your plan at the moment of export; it can't be removed afterward.
  • If you export on a paid plan (Plus and above), there is no badge. For an older file, you need to export it again after moving to a paid plan.
  • When sharing by link, you hide the badge under Share › Advanced Settings (Plus and above).
  • According to Gamma's help article, printing from the browser in its own editor (Ctrl+P or Cmd+P) doesn't add the badge regardless of plan; useful for a personal printed copy.

The exported file is not always identical to what is on screen. Gamma's own list of limitations: gradient headings may fall back to a single color, frosted backgrounds revert to a fallback style, the slide master doesn't carry over, and some charts come through as images. The export reflects how it looks in present mode.

If fonts break when you open the PPTX in Google Slides, that is not Gamma; Google Slides ignores embedded fonts. Open it in PowerPoint or use PDF. Gammas longer than 150 slides may not export: split them into sections and download separately.

Which model? Effort level and image model

Gamma doesn't let you pick the text model by name. The pricing page says it uses providers such as Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Flux, Recraft, Ideogram, Luma and Leonardo behind the scenes. There are two things you choose: the effort level and the image model.

Effort levelWhat it is for, per GammaWhich plans
LiteFast, solid results for everyday tasks; uses the fewest creditsNot named in the plan list
StandardThe recommended balance of speed and quality for most tasksEvery plan
MaxThe most capable models, deeper thinking and deep research that cross-checks sources; uses more credits and can take a few more minutesPro, Ultra, Business, Enterprise
Which one to choose
  • A quick draft to test an idea: Lite or Standard
  • A presentation going to a client or management: Max (Pro and above)
  • Draft at a lower level first, then regenerate the one you like with Max in a new conversation
Image model

In-slide images come in four tiers: Standard (from Free), Advanced (from Plus), Premium (from Pro), Ultra (Ultra and business plans). According to Gamma's developer documentation, credits per image: Standard 2–15, Advanced 20–33, Premium 34–75, Ultra 30–125. The app shows a model's credit cost before you generate.

How to change it

From the level picker next to the prompt box on the generation screen. Your plan's default level is preselected; a level not on your plan shows an upgrade prompt. The level can't change once the conversation has started.

The model and level list changes often; this section was checked on October 14, 2026. Gamma's documentation doesn't show which provider the text model comes from for a given presentation.

Gamma with Claude, ChatGPT, Slack and the API

GammaClaudeon all Gamma plansChatGPTon all Gamma plansSlackon all Gamma plansAPI and Zapier/Make/n8nPro and above

On the Gamma side, connectors are available on the free plan too, but every generation uses credits. The conditions for adding custom connectors on Claude's and ChatGPT's own plans are separate and are not covered on this page. If you want to generate presentations in bulk with code or automation tools, you get an API key on Pro and above; the key is shown once, and you send it in the X-API-KEY header.

Setup steps are in the "Can you download Gamma" section, on the Claude and ChatGPT tab.

Is Gamma free? Plans, credits and pricing

Yes, there is a free plan and it doesn't require a credit card. But its limit works on credits, not time: you get 400 credits once at sign-up and they don't renew. Every AI action (generating a presentation, editing with AI, generating images) uses credits.

Prices exclude tax and are in US dollars. Payment is by card through Stripe: if the bank that issued your card blocks international or online payments, the payment may be declined; ask your bank to allow it.

How do credits work?

Spending order: plan credits first, then credits you bought, and workspace credits last (Business and Enterprise only). On a paid plan, when credits run out, non-AI features and manual editing keep working; extra credits can be bought (Gamma's help page lists 1,500 credits for $6). Credits can't be bought on the free plan.

The pricing page says "unlimited AI creation" on paid plans and adds a fair use condition in a footnote; the help center, however, says every AI action uses credits. Don't assume it is unlimited; track your credits in Settings.

The official pricing and help pages offer no student or educator discount. Discount codes can only be used when moving from Free to your first paid subscription.

Does Gamma support Turkish? Presentations in Turkish

Turkish presentations (output language)YesGamma's developer documentation lists 67 output languages, and Turkish (tr) is on the list. You choose the output language on the generation screen; even if the prompt is in another language, the output comes in the selected language. There is no official claim about output quality; read the text.
Translating a finished presentation into TurkishYesYou tell the AI editor "Translate … into Turkish". Slide by slide on Free and Plus, all slides with one command on Pro.
App menuUnclearThe interface language follows the browser language; there is no list of supported interface languages. The gamma.app/tr page is a mix of Turkish and English. Gamma's help center has a Turkish option, but it is empty.
Mobile appNoEnglish only, according to the help center.
Voice dictation (phone)UnclearIn the mobile app it works "in a range of languages"; Turkish is not named.

If a presentation you wanted in Turkish comes out in English, choose Turkish as the output language on the generation screen. To translate a finished gamma, type "Translate all slides into Turkish" (slide by slide on Free).

What happens to what I put into Gamma? Training, deletion, commercial use

Model training

On individual plans (Free, Plus, Pro, Ultra), using your content to train AI models is allowed by default. You turn it off under Settings then Data Controls. On Business and Enterprise it is automatically off and locked.

Storage and deletion

Gamma stores content in the cloud. The privacy policy gives no fixed retention period. Content and the account can be deleted at any time; account deletion can't be undone. To delete the account: profile picture › Settings then Sign in & security › Delete my account; detach custom domains first.

Where data goes

The privacy policy has an EU/UK (GDPR) section and a representative; there is no section on Turkey or KVKK (Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law). Personal data may be transferred to the US. Gamma states that it is SOC 2 Type II compliant.

Commercial use

Gamma doesn't claim ownership of your content; the pricing page says your content stays yours regardless of subscription status. The terms of service grant the license for "personal or internal business purposes". Official sources don't make clear whether using it in a presentation you deliver to a client is allowed; this is not legal advice.

Before uploading text that contains client, student or patient information, turn off training permission under Data Controls on individual plans, or mask the names.

How do you cancel a Gamma subscription, and are there refunds?

  1. In Gamma, go to Settings then Billing from the left menu.
  2. At the bottom of the page click "Cancel subscription" (if it is gray, you are not the billing admin). For payment methods and invoices, use "Manage subscription in Stripe".
  3. The subscription runs until the end of the period; then the account goes back to Free, your gammas are not deleted, and plan credits drop to 400.
Refunds

According to Gamma's help center, since December 1, 2025 refunds are given only within the first 3 days after purchase and only if the per-plan credit threshold hasn't been exceeded (if you used fewer than 200 credits on Plus, 600 on Pro, 1,000 on Business, 2,000 on Ultra); you have to write to the support team, and canceling does not trigger an automatic refund. The terms of service, however, say "no refunds"; the two official sources conflict. The subscription renews automatically and there is no pause option: cancel before it renews.
